Become a Summer Intern or Work Study Student at the Bisexual Resource Center in Boston

The Bisexual Resource Center envisions a world where love is celebrated, regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression. Because bisexuals today are still misunderstood, marginalized and discriminated against, the BRC is committed to providing support to the bisexual community and raising public awareness about bisexuality and bisexual people.

The BRC uses bisexual as an umbrella term for people who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and emotional attraction to more than one gender. We celebrate and affirm the diversity of identity and expression regardless of labels.

The BRC needs one or two unique, progressive, energetic interns to help with the following:
  • Event Planning: assist with the planning of summer and fall community events, including Celebrate Bisexuality Day in September

  • Volunteer Coordination: assist with getting community members involved with various activities including events and fundraising

  • Product Management: assist with fulfilling orders and updating inventory

  • Pride: assist with organizing the bi contingent for Pride, preparing materials for the Pride booth, and coordinating volunteer coverage of activities
Applicants should have the following: strong organizational ability; ability to take initiative and work independently; good writing, communication, and people skills; flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of task; and a sense of humor!

The position is for 610 hours per week, May-August, and can be built around your availability. The BRC office is located at 29 Stanhope St, right near the Back Bay Station on the Orange Line. Some of the internship time will be spent at the office; some tasks might be able to be done from your home. The internship is unpaid.
